Leadership Quality
Have you
ever been a witness to, as well as heard,
I've given
up attempting to make sense of my life in a very complex matrix structure.
or
" I have
given up on trying to make sense of the extremely intricate matrix structure in
which I am currently residing. or
Or,
Or you could
say, "I am responsible for achieving results, but I have very little or no
responsibility over the people and resources that are essential for
success."
or
Or, "I
have to answer to three bosses"
Or, "I
am responsible to a total of three managers." or
" It is
impossible for one person to be responsible for all of the tasks in the
organisation."
"continuous
change" has become the guiding principle, and several management
techniques (fads) are being implemented on a regular basis in the belief that
they will make our lives easier.
In a
nutshell, life, according to the managers we currently work for, is a
never-ending battle to achieve one's goals while lacking sufficient authority.
Even simply
reading all of these comments can be exhausting, can't it?
How many of
the managers or supervisors you've worked for during your career do you
consider to be truly exceptional leaders?
A great leader,
for the purposes of this question, is someone who encouraged you to show up for
work every morning and produce the best possible work; someone who helped you
believe in yourself; some one who actually cared about your success; and some
one whom you wanted to follow gladly.
"leaders
who produce amazing outcomes in spite of, rather than because of, the
circumstances"
In my
opinion, the most important quality for leadership is energy. To me, leadership
is the skill of channelling the potential and energy of other people towards
the development of a more desirable future.
At the end
of the day, the difference between leaders and those who are not leaders is
that leaders find the strength to continue on and fight, while those who are
not leaders give up and let others down.
Energy is
not something that can be acquired by attending school or by choosing a
high-ranking position just because of its associated title or responsibilities.
The energy
necessary for leadership must be found, and there is no easy way to speed up
the process of providing it. This is an attempt to tell how one can discover
their own leadership energy as well as how one can help others discover their
own leadership energy.
